Administrator

The person appointed by the court to manage and distribute the estate of someone who died without a will (intestate). This role is similar to an executor, but is appointed when there is no will or when the named executor is unable or unwilling to serve. The administrator has a fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the estate and its beneficiaries.
