Executor

The person named in a will to manage and distribute the deceased person’s estate. Also known as a personal representative, the executor is responsible for gathering assets, paying debts and taxes, and distributing the remaining assets to beneficiaries according to the will’s instructions. The executor has a fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the estate and its beneficiaries.
