Will

A legal document that specifies how a person’s assets should be distributed after their death. A will may also name an executor to manage the estate and guardians for minor children. To be valid, a will must meet certain legal requirements, such as being signed by the testator (will-maker) and witnessed. Wills are typically subject to probate court review and approval before assets can be distributed.
